In honor of Black History Month 2017, I Am Black Business had the pleasure of attending the Village Market Atl as a vendor. The Village Market Atl was created after Dr. Key Hallmon began hosting monthly master classes on entrepreneurship and community development. It is a quarterly open invitation for the community to come together and collectively radiate, enjoy the arts, network, eat locally sourced foods, and simply enjoy an event that is fueled by the essence of our village. Most importantly, the event provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs and startups to showcase their many talents and products.

This quarter, the event was held at the Westside Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, February 18th from 5p-10pm. The theme of the event was Transcendence: A Celebration of African-American Entrepreneurship & Culture. This was an important theme given our ability to offer extraordinary experiences to our customers. Dr. Key and her team created that type of experience for both consumers and vendors.

During our annual retrospective, we discussed various ways to bring more exposure to the I Am Black Business brand. When we heard about the event, we knew it would be a great opportunity. The team had a great time talking to consumers about our business, advising them of the products and services we offer,  supporting fellow black-owned vendors and developing potential partnerships. We were also fortunate to sell several of our I Support Black Business t-shirts. Various black-owned vendors that were in attendance included Khris Kross Creations, Havana Cigars, Purposeful Design and Pop Stars, just to name a few. There were also artists, educational companies, vegan cuisine and much more.

If you have not heard of the Village Market Atl, we highly encourage you to look out for their next quarterly event. In the meantime check them out at here.
