During a previous post, I mentioned receiving catering services from two black owned restaurants – Michon’s and Chef Rob’s. I had the pleasure of eating at Chef Rob’s restaurant this past weekend. Chef Rob’s serves authentic Caribbean cuisine with a gourmet twist. Located in Sandy Springs, this restaurant offers a unique, upscale atmosphere without sacrificing taste or ambiance.
As soon as I entered the restaurant I was greeted with a smile by the hostess and one of the waitresses. The hostess was anticipating my arrival and led me to the table where the other guests were seated. Upon sitting down, the waitress immediately asked if I needed food or drink. Even though I didn’t have an appetizer, I would recommend the Grilled Jerk Chicken Wings. A few of the other guests thoroughly enjoyed the wings and were impressed with the fresh seasoning combined with hot and spicy jerk sauce.
I ordered the Jerked Chicken and Shrimp Fettuccine Pasta. The portion was perfect and the meal was satisfying. The perfectly spiced jerk chicken and shrimp combined with the cream sauce over the pasta was a treat for my taste buds. Judging by the silence at the table, it was apparent that everyone enjoyed their food. The drinks and attentiveness of the staff added to the dining experience.
Chef Rob’s also offers a lounge next door to the restaurant where Caribbean music is played by a live DJ. It’s a convenient way to transition your evening without leaving the premises. The lounge offers drinks, dancing and a relaxing atmosphere. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a big meal.
I highly suggest making a trip to Sandy Springs to experience what Chef Rob’s has to offer.
