On Friday, May 29th the team at I Am Black Business kicked off the Black Business Crawl Campaign in Atlanta, Ga. The event took place in the historic district of Castleberry Hill on Peter’s street. The primary objective of the Black Business Crawl is to visit and support black owned businesses in a particular area.
We’re targeting areas where there is a high saturation of businesses within a small radius. In the case of Peter’s street, all of the businesses were within walking distance. Within an hour, we were able to visit 6 businesses, and support 3 of them with purchases.
Typically we promote businesses and provide marketing via our online directory. Unfortunately, promoting businesses is not the same as supporting them. We understand the value of walking into an establishment and developing a rapport with the owner and employees. We’re committed to showing support to the businesses within our reach in Atlanta. I would encourage you to do the same in your city.
We’d love for you to join us for the next Crawl. Look out for an invititation for the next event.
